How Does Edinburgh See Me?

Experiencing hyper reality with marijuana.

Tonight was my second zero-audience, no-performance night of Edinburgh Fringe 2026.

Something’s off around six PM on Thursdays in Edinburgh’s New Town.

Especially when it’s raining.

The Street bar was empty.

The thing is, I don’t feel bad about the cancellation. I think a part of me is done performing. Ten performances so far.

Today is just past the halfway mark through Fringe, so this lethargy is not a good sign.

I have another ten performances left.

Nonetheless, not having to perform made me giddy.

Now, I get to catch a show I’ve been wanting to see forever, but couldn’t — because their showtime was so close to mine.

I took a 420 hit on my way to the show. The high must’ve hit me in some sort of way. Because I noticed people tilting their heads at me. They weren’t gawking, but, after weed has slowed time down, I really noticed how walking around in a full head of cross-gendering makeup really catches people’s attention.

I didn’t have the energy to be out in full face, so I came home.

On the walk home, I walked past a pair of very pretty ladies. Dolled up exquisitely. One of them made eye contact with me and smiled.

How did she see me?

Was it pretty acknowledging pretty?
