Edinburgh, Here I Come
The nervous anticipation the night before flight

I am sitting in the bathtub, shaving my legs for the first time in months.
By this time tomorrow, I will be on a plane to debut a new show at the Edinburgh Fringe.
Will it top my first experience from last year's fringe?
Last year, on the very first day I went out flyering, I was attacked in drag.
I made a TikTok video of the incident. It went viral. Over 200,000 views in 24 hours.
The day after that, I had to cancel the world premiere of my show... because no one came.
The Fringe, for the struggling artist, is a rollercoaster. A few you-really-have-to-see-things-from-a-different-perspective highs before the non-stop downfalls. As my friend Edu said (a fellow Fringe virgin), this is like my entire life as an artist -- condensed into three weeks.
But, GRRL!
SERIOUSLY.
Nothing beats the high of this moment. The nervous exhilaration. I am too excited to sleep.
